WORMHOLE
Inspired by Ermanno Olmi's film “Milano ‘83”, the futurist music piece by Luigi Russolo “Risveglio di una città”(1913) and the radio drama “Ritratto di Città” by Luciano Berio and Bruno Maderna (1954), the film was conceived as an idea of a journey of observation of the city, its spaces, volumes, sounds and the life of its inhabitants.
As counterpoint the street. An intricate grid of paths and encounters, of feelings and moods.
A place of transit that becomes a metaphor for an existential condition. Urban spaces that in addition to designing our imagination define and limit the human path. The individual in its infinite possibilities of coexistence. A functional landscape that becomes changeable, stratified.
The film follows the arc of a day in the city from dawn to dusk. A visual and emotional journey that intends to recall the structure of a musical score.
The making of the film and the filming were done through the use of formal research, a necessary tool to bring the viewer in an intimate and personal condition. Allowing the possibility of an “elsewhere”, of a new point of view, of space-time corridors as metaphors of existence.
